Aquatic Invertebrates Field Trip

Workshop followed by talk at 12.45PM at The Grove. Because aquatic invertebrates are common, diverse, relatively easy to identify and sensitive to water pollution, habitat degradation and other human disturbances, they are often used as indicators of river health. Insects, crustaceans and other types of invertebrates will be collected from waterbodies onsite and prepared for viewing under a microscope, and a presentation about the ecology and adaptations for aquatic life of Queensland's aquatic invertebrates will follow.
